I have a Samsung full HD camcorder that is not compatible with iMovie. Would I be able to use it with Final Cut Pro?

I have a Samsung full HD camcorder that is not compatible with iMovie. Would I be able to use it with Final Cut Pro? Or is it an Apple OS issue, meaning it's incompatible for use with ANY Apple product. The camcorder was a gift. I'd hate to have to buy a new one cause I can't edit any of the video.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I cannot find any information from Samsung on that exact model. The user manual available from their web site cover these cameras

HMX-Q10BN/HMX-Q100BN/HMX-Q130BN HMX-Q10TN/HMX-Q100TN/HMX-Q130TN HMX-Q10UN/HMX-Q100UN/HMX-Q130UN HMX-Q10PN/HMX-Q100PN/HMX-Q130PN

it doesn't seem as if the XAA is included. The cameras covered by this manual should work with FCP. (They should also work with iMovie.)

You can download a trial version of FCP, connect the camera in playback mode in FCP, use the import function and see what happens.
