Option to clear history has disappeared from safari menu

Since my daughter used my mac yesterday, the option to clear history has disappeared from the safari menu.

Mackeeper was also installed but I have got rid of that. I can't seem to find an option to re install safari or even find if any other programs have been installed

Has anyone else had this happen?

To reset safari open user library : macOS Sierra: Library folder

Find a folder Preferences delete com.apple.Safari.plist to the trash , restart the system empty the trash , the settings will go to default , you have to set home page once again .

And to find out what other programs are installed use : https://www.etrecheck.com/

Also , if History icon is hiding in the top menu bar , check the settings by opening System preferences > General verify that the box automatically hide and show the menu bar is unchecked .

Hi,

If your Mac is running macOS 10.7 (Lion) or later, the only way to reinstall Safari is to use macOS Recovery.

If you aren't sure which OS X is installed on your Mac, click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click: About This Mac. The version is noted there.

Before you do that, the Clear History issue might be due to a conflict with any Safari extensions or third party plug-ins.
