I have entered in my yahoo details in mail then accounts, and the account is listed there and yet when I click on Mail Nothing appears at all, no inbox blank or otherwise, I just have the toolbar at the top that says Mail, File, Edit, View etc. I checked that Mail was open by clicking on Finder, Applications and double clicking on Mail but nothing.
Please help no idea what to do!

If I am understanding you correctly, your Mail application is open and the account details of your Yahoo email are entered in preferences, but there is no window appearing, just the Mail menu bar. Is that right?
You can bring up a window for your mail by going to the File menu and selecting New Viewer Window.
If you do have a viewer window open from Mail, but are not seeing anything in it, first check to see that you set up your account correctly using the steps in this article - Mail (Yosemite): Set up Mail with your email accounts.
If the account is set up correctly and you are still not getting any email see this article - If you can’t send or receive email on your Mac.
