Jul 19, 2015 1:46 PM in response to joelstongeby ntomallen,Are you using Apple Music? And have you ever used iTunes Match in the past? A lot of people (including me) had problems with turning Apple Music on in version 12.2. This is a fix for that issue. If some songs that were previously matched by iTunes Match show up as Apple Music songs in iTunes - Apple Support

Jul 20, 2015 1:06 AM in response to joelstongeby Lost in Asia,I'm having this problem too - I change the information, then it changes back to some previous point in time. It doesn't seem to want to go back to the "original" data; just to a previous point in time. If I keep changing it, again and again, it seems to stick eventually.
Note this is content added since the 12.2.1 update.
(Having typed all this, I now see that iTunes has once again undone the tags I spent the past 20 minutes redoing. Thanks Apple. "You want to rename your files? Sorry, you can't.)

Jul 21, 2015 10:16 PM in response to Lost in Asiaby Lost in Asia,Just bumping this back up ... I make changes to track names for newly imported tracks, after iTunes has already synced them to iCloud Music Library or whatever it's called. A few minutes later iTunes changes the tags back to an older (but usually not the original) tags/metadata. If I keep repeating this ad nauseum, eventually the changes seem to stick, but it's really annoying. Any ideas for a fix?
I've never used iTunes Match. Apple Music is turned on, yes, although I'm developing a pretty strong dislike of how it affects my library.

Jul 21, 2015 11:56 PM in response to Lost in Asiaby Lost in Asia,Well, first I tried iTunes / Preferences / Store, and turned off "Share details about your library with Apple" - then quit and restarted iTunes. That didn't seem to make a difference; the tracks continued to revert to earlier names.
Then I tried iTunes / Preferences / General, and turned off iCloud Music Library - and that seems to have solved the renaming problem. Of course that's a bit like ripping out the transmission to fix the turn signals, so I'm not particularly happy with this solution.
Note that the files that keep getting renamed aren't even "songs" - they're language lessons bought through an online subscription - so there are no Apple Store tags to match. They just keep going back to a previous save point, as if when you're playing a video game, suddenly for no apparent reason you've jumped back to your previous last-saved point. And then you jump back to it again. And again.
