Jul 19, 2015 4:24 PM in response to b1unkyby waynebonnici,Right click on your shortcut icon(desktop) and run itunes as an administrator. User account control message shows up. Click yes. Then,
- If the menu bar isn't showing, hold down the Control and B keys to open it. Learn more about the iTunes for Windows menu bar.
- From the menu bar, choose Help > Check for Updates.
- Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.

Jul 20, 2015 12:21 PM in response to b1unkyby b1unky,I Seem to have found the (an) fix for my problem. My computer was configured to start up without entering a password as I am the only one who uses or has access to the computer. This configuration gave me authority as the administrator for all purposes - except, apparently, for Apple. Just on a hunch, I reconfigured the startup to require that I use a password to login. I restarted the computer, logged in wth the password, tried installing ITunes and NO PROBLEM. I guess that Apple installation checks to see that a password was used to gain administrator authority. I don't particularly mind the extra security requirements, but it would be nice if that was mentioned SOMEWHERE. I'm sure that I'm not the only single user who hasn't used a password to login.
