Q: legacy "backup" software

So I have the old Apple Backup software V 3.2 which I use in addition to time machine. It is, intact, more customizable. It is copyrighted 2010, so it is not that old. I can't find any support. Opening a back up file seems to require the software. My desktop computer got stolen from my car in transit. The files contain sensitive information. Does anyone know if the files are encrypted or otherwise unreadable by a sophisticated thief?
