Q: How do I save media for new iPod?

I've been thinking about getting a new iPod Touch, but I'm not sure how to save my media or apps from the old one. I don't want to have to buy all my media and apps again. Is there any way or anywhere I can save my stuff from my old iPod when I get a new one? Thanks for your help.

Janet

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 6.0.1, Had it since August of 2012.

Your media and apps are part of your iTunes library. You can put all of that material on to a new device via iTunes. Actually, the easiest thing to do is to create a backup of the old device in iTunes and then restore the new device to that backup, and it will look just like your old device.

    Try giving this a read

it is very easy to back up your old device, then when you set up the new one, you'll have two choices, set up as new or restore from a backup. Choose to restore and restore it from the backup of your old one. Then your new one will be a near clone of the old one

    Note:

    - If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded as will iTunes purchased music. . If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    - Unless you use an encrypted backup and restore from that backup yo will have to reenter all password on the restored iPod
