Q: How To: Allow Factory Reset Only From Parent Account With Family Sharing
Family sharing needs to take into consideration of split famil where parents are co-parenting, are still a family, but the parents do not share the family account.
My child lives with their mother. I purchased an iPad for my child. I do not want my child's other parent factory wiping the device and restoring the iPad and using the iPad for other purposes or giving it to her other children or using it for herself.
I Already shared my child's Apple ID with her so she can allow purchases of games. My child has gift cards that I gave them.
I Want to set up Family sharing, but this is my gripe; I now allow the mother the ability to wipe the device. i want my child off of my iCloud account which is currently setup. Their Apple ID, under my iCloud Account. A factory wipe cannot happen without my credentials. However this setup creates a bit of confusion and I am unable to share iCloud albums without sharing everything. I don't want that.
the setup
Child Ipad
child Apple id
my iCloud credentials
restrictions enabled
family sharing currently disabled (I have many iCloud albums that do not need to be shared with my child)
icloud photos tons disabled on child iPad (running out of space)
backups are are sent to my iCloud so I can control them in case
app downloads are associated with child's Apple ID
find my iPhone associated with my apple id. I can find my child iPad if need be
