Iphone 4 notes lost. Please help.

I've lost a couple of notes, which I can't locate anywhere.

I've tried retrieving them using software, however apparently they haven't been deleted. I still have notes which pre and post date the ones I've lost.

Apparently I have insufficient data to back them up to the cloud, so they aren't on my iCloud or itunes account; I've checked.

Any advice on retrieving them? Thanks!
