IF you are still having these issues, please do yourself a big favor - pay the $35 to open a support call (they will refund it once you get put through to a higher tier of support rep), and give the Apple folks a chance to help you find a fix to this issue. I had a similar problem with Photos that I'd spent months classifying, sorting, editing and commenting upon. It took nearly six hours and a total of three senior product engineers and lots of patience on my part, trying roughly 40 different processes, but ultimately, they got back ALL of my data. Apple's people are very good at what they do. People are put off by having to pay for support up-front, which I totally understand, but they credit the charge right back once they see it's a big and not just a user's lack of experience causing the problem. Good luck, and sorry you're missing music you love. I know how much that can bring a person down.
