Since yesterday one of my apple tv devices is stuck on the computer and settings screen

Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV

1. You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
2. Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
3. If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
4. If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.

If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

You might also try connecting to a different network and then trying again on your own, you might try at a friends or use the wifi hotspot on your mobile phone if you have one.

Tried all the steps above and none are working to get my Apple TV out of the computer and settings mode!

Seems to have happened to a whole bunch of people (presumably in one area as mine is fine), just wait for things to get back to normal.

yes i know it's an old thread but it's the same problem, thank you. When will things b back to normal and what caused it to be abnormal?

Same problem here...waiting...waiting...waiting. Worse than the pinwheel of death...

Actually it's a different problem and hence why the old advice isn't any help.

Have you tried rebooting it (pull the power plug out)

It's a server issue.

Then a reboot wont help even slightly 😟

It may require a restart or other when the servers are ok again, not sure exactly never seen this issue before in close on 10 years of Apple TV.

This is an update issue. Temporary fix: go into setting and change your location to the United Kingdom. The. Go back to your home page with the apps. They should have returned. Then Go back into settings and switch it back to the United States. Apple is aware and currently addressing the issue. Big shout out to Apple tech support for this solution.

The problem is this isn't fixing it for everyone and those that have posted that it has may have posted prematurely as some have since told us this is the case.
