How can I get iBooks to reload a pdf?

I'm writing a book, regularly updating my draft in a pdf. In iBooks I can delete the pdf, then add to collection again after each save. The problem is then the pdf gets deleted from each device I sync, and I have to re-check the pdf and sync on each device.
