Is there a free app for Mac to open a WPS file? I googled the file name and yahoo answers defined it as a Microsoft Works file. Do people still use that in 2015?

I guess some Windows PC users do. Especially those who have it on their computer and do not have another word processing program.
Apparently, I did find a free app in the mac app store called WPS viewer which is an abridged version of a paid app. I was able to open the file and print. I then scanned the form and saved as a PDF file and emailed to all in the email group. I'm guessing that the original file was created on a Windows XP machine. I was not able to find a free app in the ios app store for either my iPhone or iPad.
