Q: itunes not letting me add music

Just got a new macbook pro and iTunes wont let me add music to my phone. I 'downloaded' music from my iCloud library to iTunes but now when I go to drag songs over to my phone it won't let me add them.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), iOS 8.4

Is iCloud Library enabled on your phone?

On your phone > Settings > music > iCloud Library

If not activated, it wont sync Apple Music. Only the music you have on your MacBook.

This is what keeps coming up when the song says it was uploaded and purchased.

But other songs that say they are from "apple music" won't even highlight my iPhone when I drag the song over.

Instead of dragging from your computer to your phone, try just adding the song from within the phone itself.

Add music from the Apple Music catalog to your library - Apple Support
