I have an iphone 6, ios 8.4. Now I get pop up notifications for the Facebook app. How can I disable this feature and get the red dot notifications on the Facebook app?

Tap Settings > Notifications > Facebook then switch Allow Notfications to OFF.

Thank you for your response Carolyn, but I know how to turn notifications off. I don't want the notifications off. I want to know where did the red dot notifications on the app go? I'd rather have the red dot notification than the annoying pop ups.
