Q: display not appearing

People, my iMac 2010 model all good until today when suddenly when switched on the start up sound is heard but screen remains totally black.

Switched off mains and tried again but same. Please advice. Appreciate it. Thank you

Howdy jaam,

As someone who uses my iMac almost constantly every day, I know I would be frustrated if I knew it started up but could see nothing on the display. Let's see if we can get you back up and running.
