    Hello mariofromplantation,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Correct, you are not able to sync songs through iTunes via USB or Wi-Fi syncing with iCloud Music Library enabled.  This behavior is the same if you also enable iTunes Match.

Add your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iTunes Match - Apple Support

    Take care.

This is what I understood to be true, but suddenly iCloud Music Library is not syncing from my MacBook Pro (iTunes 12.2) to my iPhone 5s (8.4), only via USB (as it had previously worked).

Basically new playlists and music added to "My Music" from Apple Music via iTunes on my MacBook Pro, do not appear on my iPhone 5s.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi Alex_h1,

what do we need to need in order to manually sync files in my local library wham having iCloud music library on?

why would I do that ? Very simple... Because my file is 320k instead of apple music 256k... So if I can chose... I'd prefer to get the one from my local library.

    thanks in advance !!!

The options are mutually exclusive, either you enable iCloud Music Library on both iTunes and the device, in which case content added to the iTunes library becomes available to your device in what will generally be a 256k ACC stream or download, or you disable iCloud Music Library on the device so that you can either manually manage or automatically sync the device with your library.

You may be able to temporarily disable iCloud Music Library on the device, update it with your higher bitrate content, then enable iCloud Music Library again, however I suspect that will entail a lot of network traffic as the two libraries (on the device and in iCloud) are merged.

Thanks TT2, first clear and prafanatic reply I get on this matter.

Actually, syncing my local library will be more for getting the right cover and, as you know, sometimes Apple music is messing up some albums (e.g live albums). Because AAC 256 k seems to have a better quality than Mp3 320k.

question: as soon as I'll deactivate iCloud music library... What will happens to all the "offline available" music I added to my device? Will it disappear ? What about liked playlist? Will they disappear as well or I'll only lose the offline availability?

    thanks in advance.

    Cheers

The Loved playlist should be easy enough to recreate. Smart playlist with the rules Loved is true and Playlist is Music. You can only have Apple Music available offline when iCloud Music Library is active. I set up an alternative library for testing with  the iCloud Music Library but I'm just about to sync my iPhone back to my main library. Far too many errors with artwork and other metadata for my liking so far, though it was all done back at launch date and I know there have been some tweaks since then so I may have another go. I've found some interesting new artists with Apple Music, but I don't want my carefully curated metadata "corrected" by anyone but me. So far I'm not impressed with the way that has gone, in particular I have a couple of songs that were on my iPhone that are now cut short for no good reason that I can think of. I assume they've been matched to a different release and the library on the device has been updated with the incorrect stop time.

FYI the latest bug fix updates mention that artwork is now synced better across devices. Maybe your problem will be solved now if you try again?
