Q: Family sharing

If I family share with my husband do we automatically get everything from each other's device.

We don't want everything, just the odd album etc. is that possible?

Neither of us have the space to take everything either.

    You ask a great question about Family Sharing and whether all items in each person's library must be automatically downloaded by the other. Let's see if we can clear this up.

     

    Family Sharing allows each member of the family group to download content that is purchased by other members (with certain exceptions such as hidden purchases) but the shared items are only made available, and are not downloaded automatically.     Specifically -

    With Family Sharing, family members get immediate access to each others’ music, movies, TV shows, books, and apps, and can download them to their own devices any time they like.
