m4a files not synced to iPod!

Hi all,

After updating to iOS 8.4 and iTunes 12.1, some of my music were missing in my iPod. After checking my computer I realised the missing music are in the m4a file format and they just don't sync to my iPod. I usually sync my entire music library, and after syncing there is still about 10GB of space left in my iPod so running out of space isn't an issue. My entire music library could be synced to my iPod before I updated the softwares. I have tried enabling/disabling iCloud Music Library and iTunes Match without success. Any solutions?

I'm using iPod 5th gen, if you need to know!

Hello eugenettc,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

From the title of your post, it looks like the music that is not syncing to your iPod touch is in M4A format. This audio format is not supported by the iPod touch. For more information, please review the attached article below.

Hi Joe_7399,

Thanks for the reply! Glad to be here! Sorry I didn't state previously, but before updating, my iPod touch could play the m4a files. Only after the new update they would refuse to get synced to my iPod.

Currently the only solution I thought of at hand is to convert all the m4a files to mp3. I tried converting to AAC in iTunes itself but it didn't work too...
