Jul 21, 2015 10:15 AM in response to VtBoomerby ChrisJ4203,★HelpfulIt is a phishing attempt. Take a look at the URL that comes from the two links that you show. None are Apple domains. After sending it to Apple, just delete it.

Jul 21, 2015 1:01 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by awaterman64,So glad you two figured this out. I had the same question ... but not until I'd already clicked on "download" and then got a dialog box asking me to choose between "repair" and "remove" my existing version of iCloud. I didn't like the sound of that, so I came here to see if others had answers. Any suggestions on what I should do with the installer? How can I delete it?
Thanks,
Alison

Jul 21, 2015 1:57 PM in response to awaterman64by VLSI_Frank,I am not sure if any of you want to hear that Apple is having problems with this rollout.
Both URL(s) are legitimate apple servers as you can see in the code for the link.
<a href="https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283" data-mce-href="https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283"><span style="color: rgb(0, 138, 205);" data-mce-style="color: #008acd;">Download<br>Now ></span></a>
If you browse to iCloud site and attempt to download iCloud, you will find security issues.
This behavior is typical of rushed rollout.

Jul 21, 2015 2:38 PM in response to awaterman64by ChrisJ4203,I'm sorry. I do not use a Mac, so I couldn't tell you where the installer had downloaded to. You will have to wait for a Mac user to come on here and answer your question.

Jul 22, 2015 2:44 AM in response to awaterman64by anivo,Hi. I have the same problem as you and downloaded the upgrade from an email addressed to me properly. I stopped when it came up about uninstalling iCloud and contacted Apple who advised me that it was a scam and to contact Microsoft for help in making sure all trace of it deleted from my computer. Contacted them and they wanted to charge me £65. I have gone into downloads and deleted this one which was in addition to my original iCloud download/installation. It was top of the list of downloads. I have Norton Security so going to do a scan of my computer. Can anyone advise please what other precautions I need to take. Many thanks.

Jul 22, 2015 6:55 AM in response to awaterman64by Jpedi,If it's a scam, it's very well done, if it's a real Apple upgrade it's incompetent. Either way I'm deleting it, updating virus definitions as I write this and will disconnect from my home network and run a full scan as soon as I finish here.
