upgrading phone to 6, need help with backup problem

Need help! Just upgraded from a iPhone 5 to 6. I was going through the steps (carrier is att), my old phone was the up to date software 8.4 i believe, the phone i bought was 8.3 and it would not allow me to complete the transfer over. I connected to iTunes, but that had not been backed up since january and now all my pics and settings are from then. Is there anyway to get my most recent cloud backup and restore my phone to the current settings of my old phone? I just updated the software to 8.4 on new phone! thanks

Hi Jennifer Veljacic,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

From what I understand, you have purchased a new iPhone 6 and were not able to restore it from your iPhone 5 iCloud backup because the iPhone 5 had a newer version of iOS than your iPhone 6. This behavior is normal. I do understand as well that you have recently updated your iPhone 6 to have the most current software as well; this will fix the restore problem.

In order to restore your new iPhone 6 from your old iPhone 5 iCloud backup now, you will need to erase the iPhone 6 and go through the set up process again. If you still have the iPhone 5, I may suggest creating a new backup before erasing your iPhone 6, just to ensure all of your data is saved in a backup. Keep in mind as well that if you have added any new content to your new iPhone 6, this will be erased when you restore from your iPhone 5 backup.

Please follow step 5 in the attached article below to complete this process.
