i also have a question about loading sims3 onto my macbook

I inserted the disk for sims 3. it said it copied all the files and it put up the sims3 installer and it said installed . then it asked for the registration numbers. it asked if I wanted the updates for the game I said yes. then it gave me the updates failed window and never gave me anything past that. no initialization window no anything. I uninstalled it and hubby tried to reinstall it again. he got as far as the registration numbers and nothing else. whats the problem. its the mac running the Yosemite 10.10

Minimum requirements for Sims 3 for Mac.


FOR MAC OS X
  • Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
  • Intel Core Duo Processor
  • 2 GB RAM
  • ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
  • At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
