iPod 5th generation - trouble creating a new apple ID

I am trying to logout my apple ID from my daughter's iPod touch and then create a new apple ID for her. Was sent to an article with the following instructions

Create an Apple ID on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. From the Home Screen, tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
  2. If an Apple ID is already signed in, tap the Apple ID name, and then tap Sign Out.
  3. Tap Create New Apple ID.

I have logged out 3 times now and am never given the option to create a New Apple ID.

Any suggestion on how to get this fixed?

Once we have the new ID, will her apps and photos be safe on the iPod or will they disappear since they are tied into my apple ID?

Thanks for your help.

Is the Restriction set in Settings>General>Restrictions that prevents changing accounts?

When you change ID the apps and phtos will still be there. However,

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.

- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Also the ID is used in more than one place:

CHANGE ID

Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID

The ID is used in the following locations and you have to change them.

Settings>Messages>Send and Receive

Settings>FaceTime

Settings>GameCenter

Settings>iCloud

and Settings>iTunes and App store

You have to sign out of ID (for iCloud you delete the iCloud account from the iPod) and sign in with other ID.

Note the following are resolved if you use Family Sharing (iOS 8 and later):

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.

- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

If the iPod has iOS 7 or later then you have the enter the password for Apple ID presently sign in Settings>iCloud.

Also, a Restriction can be set (Settings>General>Restrictions) the prevents changing accounts

After signing out, the Sign In option is grayed out, Password = required, and under Apple ID is my original Apple ID that I am trying to sign out of. It also offers me Forgot Apple ID and Password. I can go back and manually delete my Apple ID and then the example@icloud.com appears but no option for create new ID. I saw on a different post regarding iPhones going to applied.apple.com to create a new log in, but I don't want to mess up what my daughter already has on her iPod. Thanks.
