An important question, does it work? If you want to be sure of the voltage/current of the output take it to an electronics repair shop and have a tech put a voyage/ohm meter on it and see what it is putting out.
Fake does not mean it won't work, but as long as it works and the output is what the device wants to see it should be ok.
Apple have this page to identify the chargers but it seems to exclude all international adaptors.
https://www.apple.com/power-adapters/
Apple did offer a cheap exchange program where you could exchange fakes for a real charger…

It seems to be over now, perhaps you could visit an Apple store & ask them to verify the charger is real.
Some fake chargers are potentially lethal & may also be fire hazards, it's not worth the risk.

Well, that's a good question, but just yesterday there was a post from a user whose apparently fake cube went up in flames after destroying his iPhone 6. Watch the 2 videos I posted about teardowns of fake USB adapters. And there was someone who was electrocuted last year in China by a fake Apple adapter. Partly her fault for using her iPhone in the bathtub while charging it, but it wouldn't have happened with an Apple or other good quality adapter that completely isolates the 5 volt side from the incoming line voltage. That's what you lose with cheap knockoffs - the isolation between input and output.
If you mean the adapter that plugs into the wall, see:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi-b9k-0KfE
and
The small white cube has written in very, very tiny lettering on the base where the plug is, Designed by Apple in Cupertino plus the power information and model number.
And some counterfeits copy that almost exactly.
yeah i know but are they supposed to have the apple logo? the apple? cuz the one i got from ebay does and ive never seen the actual logo on the cubes before
I have several, going back 10 years, and none of them have an Apple logo. Some of my cables have Apple logos on the USB end.
I have two, each of my daughters and their husbands have seven between them, and none of those nine chargers has an Apple logo on it.
then i guess mines fake cuz the logo is on the back along with all the other info that the charger usually comes with
thanks thats a good idea i should defs do that
You are welcome, and best of luck checking it out.
