Jul 23, 2015 2:40 AM in response to bobseufertby turingtest2,I'm sure I've seen cases of two greenies, one as an Apple recommends, and one marked by the OP. Can't find an example just now, but here is a thread where a CS has recommended two posts which will have a similar flavour, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6896689

Jul 23, 2015 2:59 AM in response to turingtest2by bobseufert,Thank you. That's good to see they're allowing more then one greenie. I still think the recommenations should be a different color and moved out of the OP's question box, but that's a discussion for another place and time. Thanks again.

Jul 23, 2015 1:00 PM in response to bobseufertby ChitlinsCC,Call me crazy, but wouldn't it be beneficial if one could somehow see ONLY threads with " Recommended " answers therein - just like the (worthless) Advanced Search check box for "answered Questions"
It turns out that that search does not recognize [ " ] quotes to narrow to only within them - like any useful search engine
BUT - all is not lost!!
One can use Google Site Search for ONLY " Apple Recommends " threads - it turns out that the POST is "edited" when the award is made and the *Special* display (like the Answerie) is done client-side as the page finishes its draw. So... one can search for the "edited" part of the post. To wit -
[ "response to * Recommended" site:discussions.apple.com ] no brackets in Google Search
yields only what we seek
- the " • " " * " is the username of the OP and the phrase is how Google's crawled page "looks" to Google <= EDIT. ÇÇÇ
Here's what one of tt2's Recommended replies looks like in the results
[only the BOLD Underline is mine, the ITALICS is Google's letting you know your MATCHING terms

There aren't two greenies. The Box around the answer is green, and the first sentence is green, but the thing on the right, where the "Greenies" actually reside is all grey: RECOMMENDED

Jul 23, 2015 3:56 PM in response to gail from maineby bobseufert,Thanks for the clarification, only the box is green. Unforfunately the green box and it's position in the orignnal question make it looked like a solved answer. The miniscule print doesn't help either.
Often I read "these are user to user Forums" and "Apple doesn't read the Forum." Not only did Apple Recommends potentially cause the loss off a Forum contributor it now appears that Apple does read the Forum.

Wired or wireless connection to the internet?
Wireless network connections can often result in errors during large, long downloads, regardless of apparent connection speed.
A full Yosemite dmg download is over 5GB.
For best results, use a wired Ethernet connection.
Some people have found that adding additional DNS servers (such as Google or Open Systems) in Network Preferences also improves download times significantly.

For the time being it appears Apple Recommends is a done deal so for the time being methinks we should just let it go. I'm sure there will be ample time for discussion down the road.
Stay well. Bob.
