ATI radeon 5870 will benefit from Metal?

What improvement can be expected from next architecture "Metal" for an ATI Radeon 5870 card in a Mac Pro mid 2010 (12 cores)?

I don't believe the Radeon 5870 is supported by Metal. The guidance given by Apple was for an AMD Radeon HD 7xxx or better.
I can confirm a Radeon HD 7950 does work with Metal in a Mac Pro 2010.
