Google App returns results for Hong Kong, I am in Australia. Have changed app settings to use my location, no change.

I am using an iPad 2, 16GB. When I use the google app it seems to think I am located in Hong Kong. I am actually in Brisbane, Australia. I have location turned on in settings and enabled for the app while using. "Language & Region" in General Settings show I am in Australia. Can anyone help? I've tried uninstalling the Google App and reinstalling but no improvement.
