Q: iPad not connecting to Apple TV despite Apple TV appearing in AirPlay list

I Am having trouble connecting iPad to Apple TV. They are on same wi-fi network; the Apple TV option appears in AirPlay on iPad. As soon as I select it, it accepts; then disconnects immediately.? Any idea's?

Apple TV (3rd generation), Windows 7

That will happen when there is a network issue, a reboot will reset the connection.
