Dropped iPhone 6 in water.

Hi, i recently dropped my iPhone 6 in water. Half of it got submerged before i quickly took it out. I'm pretty sure that it hasn't received water damage because the water damage indicator hasn't turned red and I can turn it on (although it takes a little longer than usual). It has been covered in rice for a good 30 hours now. I took it out about 10 hours ago then turned it on and it seemed to work fine until i got a blue screen and it restarted. Fearing a short circuit, i turned it off and put it back in the rice. Now I tried turning it back on again and I received the same problem (this time the screen turned red). Is water damage inevitable or should i let the rice do its work a little more. It's been 30 hours and i'm beginning to lose hope.

Thanks for the advice, but like I said, from i what i can observe there hasn't been water damage. I'm pretty sure the phone is turning off to prevent a short circuit because there is still some moisture within the phone. I'm curious as to the effectiveness of the rice. Will it be able to soak up all of the moisture and within the phone or will i be doomed with the blue screen?

I don't think the phone would turn on if i had fried it.

If all you are getting is a red screen then the phone really did not turn on.

from what I can observe it hasn't damaged any internal components.

The water has indeed caused damage. Mineral deposits and corrosion will cause shorts between the traces on the motherboard. The traces are very close together and it does not take much to short across the traces.

Your phone is toast and will never work reliably again. It may operate properly for a few days, it may not. Regardless the device needs to be replaced. Go to an Apple store and get an out of warranty replacement. It will be much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ the cost is less than the cost of replacing a damaged screen.
