I have an ipod classic 120 GB and the audio jack only allows music out of one side. I live in the UK, can I get it repaired, and if so, how much would it possibly cost me?

Sadly, I don't think Apple will repair an iPod Classic anymore. I had my iPod Classic work done in the United States at one of the small shops that fix cell phones. I would try calling or visiting some of those.
Considering the high value of an iPod Classic, ($700 for a new one in the United States) I would strongly encourage you to pursue a repair.
Opening up the iPod classic is a little tricky, but I've managed a few headphone jack and hold switch replacements and battery swap outs. The parts can be found on eBay for £5-£10 along with the tools you'll need. You may find a firm that can do the repair for a reasonable cost if you don't fancy DIY.
