Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It seems like your iPhone 4s doesn't respond when you "Slide to unlock."
First, try these steps from If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch:
Fix your touchscreen
Make sure your hands are clean and dry, then try these steps:
- If you have a case or screen protector on your device, try removing it.
- Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- Unplug your device.
- Restart your device. If you can't restart, force your device to restart.
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
All the best.

Jul 24, 2015 7:51 PM in response to jeremy_vby nlela,I had this issue as well tonight. My phone was working fine and then the screen froze up and I am unable to slide to unlock the screen. I tried to charge it up, force a restart and even restore on iTunes but that doesn't work if you can't unlock your screen. It is now on the charger and alternates between the frozen home screen and the black screen with the white apple on it. I have even tried calling my phone from the home line to see if when an incoming call was coming in I would be able to unlock it but no luck. In fact the iPhone didn't even ring when I called it. I am not sure what else to do. I have tried all the suggestions that are out there on this help apple community site and nothing is working. Not sure why my phone would be working and with no incident to it, it suddenly is not working. Any other suggestions out there? I might have to take it to the Apple Retail Store for some troubleshooting.
