Q: iTunes 12.2.1 freezing
I recently discovered that my phone is missing some of my music since upgrading to Apple Music. When I opened iTunes, to see if I could help my phone recognize this fact, I find that iTunes freezes shortly after startup. Upon clicking the iTunes icon to open, the music player window successfully comes up. In the top right corner of the window, a cloud icon with diagonal progress bars appears, as well as a broken circle/progress wheel. The wheel disappears in a few seconds, but the cloud stays displayed. Within a minute of opening the app, it freezes, and I have no other choice but to initiate a force quit. I have followed the trouble shooting steps on this link, to no avail. Fix unexpected quits or launch issues in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support It's support for Windows, but it's the closest page I could find to troubleshoot what I'm experiencing.
• Starting in "Safe Mode" has no apparent affect on iTunes. It opens, and freezes in short order.
• Disconnecting from the internet allows iTunes to open without issue. However, this does not solve the problem of my missing music, and when I turn Wi-Fi back on, iTunes freezes a few moments later.
• Starting a new User Account, and recreating my old library don't seem like effective solutions, but maybe someone else can explain how this might aid me.
I use an early 2010 MBP, running Yosemite 10.10.4, with iTunes 12.2.1. My software is up to date according to the App Store. Ive attached another link of a YouTube video demonstrating the issue, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWW37I0J6JU
Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
