Call forward & erase to factory settings

My (corporate) iPhone 6 is defective and I will have it replaced in the coming days.

While awaiting the new phone, my plan is to:

1. enable call forwarding to my private number

2. Erase to factory settings the old/defective phone

3. Use my private phone (receding the diverted incoming calls)

AFter receiving the new phone:

4. Transfer the same SIM card from defective phone to new phone

5. Disable call forwarding on the new phone

question: will this be doable or erasing to factory settings also erases the call forwarding? Or any tricky steps I should be aware of..?
