Jul 23, 2015 10:13 AM in response to ChitlinsCCby Artisteff,UNfortunately, this did not work for me. My mouse remains disfunctional so I cannot enter my pass code and even though I continue to hold the shift key down, the dialogue box for the blue tooth comes up and continues to search for a wireless mouse.

Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

Jul 25, 2015 5:41 AM in response to Artisteffby Artisteff,Yeah! I finally got the computer up and running! Thank-you everyone for your help. I turned off the computer and unplugged everything overnight. This morning I plugged everything back in and held down the shift key when I turned on the computer. I was able to key in my code and get back on line!
