Q: Powerbook Pro Green Apple Blank Screen Won't Boot

My Powerbook Pro with a year-old 500ish GB aftermarked SSD suddenly went dark while in use. All attempts to reboot in safe mode etc only yielded a green apple screen with faint horizontal lines that would go to a blank white screen halfway through boot. Pulled my SSD out of the machine and installed it in an identical machine that had a damaged case. This booted up and worked perfectly for 5 weeks while I considered options for replacing my machine. But tonight, using this temporary replacement machine with the only common part being the SSD...kazap! Same thing happened. While just reading and making no input actions, screen went to black as if the machine had powered off. Now, same green apple and no boot. Only other clue is that I remember the fan running quite a bit today as I was working on a number of open Sharepoint pages.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), WD My Book for Mac
