The option to "Permanently erase deleted messages when : Quitting Mail" does not work unless it is reset every time I log in.
Is there a fix for this ?

Does that mean that it's unset every time you quit Mail, or that you have to unset and reset it every time? Does the same thing happen with any other settings?
The box "Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox" is checked.
The box "Store deleted messages on the server" is unchecked.
The option "permanently erase deleted messages when : Quitting Mail" is chosen.
It will work once, then never again unless I change a parameter, save, and change it back and save.
This also happens on an order Macbook Pro 2008 with Yosemite.
It seems to be a bug.
