Q: bootcamp keeps saying cannot install software because of network problems

I have a macbook air mid 2013. I am trying to install windows 7 and I have a bootable usb and the windows 7 iso file. However when I run bootcamp the bar stops at 50% and says 'copying windows files'. Then a message appears saying 'cannot install software because of network problems'. Please help.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

1. Please use a wired network connection, if possible.
2. Can you check the output of the following two commands from Utilities -> Terminal
grep apple.com /etc/hosts
grep apple.com /private/etc/hosts

MY MacBook does not have an Ethernet port so I can't have a wired connection.

Do you have a USB-to-Ethernet or TB-to-Ethernet adapter?

Can you look at Requirements for Software Update Service - Apple Support and verify that you can get to the Apple servers?

Try a Network ping and DNS Name resolution for each of the entries.
