Jul 28, 2015 12:27 AM in response to Linc Davisby Confused Mandu,TThis is driving me nuts. My husbands MacBook Pro both our iPads and iPhones are working fine. Just my lap top that says it's connected to wifi but won't display any web pages. I'm now in my husbands work trying their wifi but exactly the same thing is happening.
having done a search this appears to be a common problem, but I can't see a solution anywhere.

I Simply went to System Preferences > Network
I highlighted Wi-fi in the left column then clicked the - tab at the bottom
I then hit the + tab selected Wi-if from the drop down list then clicked create
a new Wi-fi appeared in the list on the left hand side. I waited a few mins for it to connect and bingo I'm back online :-)
