Instead, use the web interface for your email provider to move all of your emails currently in the Inbox, to the "Archive" or "All Mail". What it's called is dependent on your email provider.
Once that's done, use your inbox as it is supposed to be - only for emails that need processing. Either archive them or delete them after you process each ne email. This will keep your Inbox nice and clean.
