Why did my superdrive stop working?

After updating to Yosemite 10.10 I have had problems with Wifi disconnecting repeatedly and now after the latest update I cannot burn or read cds and dvds. Help!!

Hi Andy,
I know that running into 2 problems after an update is not fun. But lets take a look at some troubleshooting to see if we can get your Wi-Fi and SuperDrive working again.
To troubleshoot your Wi-Fi, you are going to want to use Wireless Diagnostics. That is something that is built into OS X Yosemite. Take a look at the first article to go over that and the steps to view the report of your Wi-Fi's performance.

For your issue with your SuperDrive not reading CD's and DVD's, the next article will give some guidance on that. It will make reference to the USB SuperDrive but the steps are the exact same for built-in drives.
