Q: randomly selected to test iphone7

My ipad has a notice on it. It says I have been radomly selected to test the new iphone 7!

It says I will be given a thank you iphone 6 if I act now and answer 4 questions.

Is this fake? Or what?

What information did you disclose to the scammers?

It depends on your interaction with them. Care to tell us exactly what you did?

Similar experience.  I was on my iPhone 5c and an image popped up offering a free iPhone if I tested the iPhone 7.  There was no option for getting rid of the image except to click "OK."  I clicked OK.  Another webpage opened and I X-ed out of it. About an hour later, i used the steps above to go into settings and clear safari.  What was the risk from just clicking "OK" on the image that had popped up?  Did that in and of itself allow hackers to spy and grab stuff off of my iPhone?  Thanks

Since you provided your e-mail address, you may get a large amount of spam mail now. You may want to talk to your e-mail provider about changing your mail address.

Not only will it spy... it'll kidnap your kid too, if you have one. Seriously, you worry too much. It won't do anything if you tap OK button.

Worst case scenario, your junk email volume will increase.

I have today received this "offer", too. I got it via an update of the Jorte calendar.

This is an information phishing scam. Is trying to get you to enter your information and does not leave any virus on your system.

    however, it hijacks your browser.

HERE'S HOW TO GET OUT EASY:

    TURN ON AIRPLANE MODE

CLOSE THE BROWSER APP BY DOUBLE CLICKING HOME BUTTON AND FLICKING BROWSER UP (This  works for Safari or chrome )

    RE-OPEN THE BROWSER APP

CLICK ON ITS FRIGGIN ANNOYING BUTTON. NO HARM WILL HAPPEN

YOU'LL GET A SCREEN WHERE IT WANTS YOU TO ANSWER A QUESTION OR GIVE INFO

BUT YOURE NOT CONNECTED TO ITS SITE, SO NO HARM!

YOU CAN NOW CLICK ON A NEW BROWSER WINDOW USING THE DOUBLED BOX ICON

OPEN ONE. It will be clean

    Close the offending window

    TURN OFF AIRPLANE MODE!

at this point, the whole scam disappears and you're clear of it!

Didn't mean to shout, but I wanted to be sure you got the solution

I've started getting this today. It only happens when I use my Facebook app on my iPad and click into a news thread. However, if I go into Facebok using Safari, it does not happen. It also doesn't happen when I use the Facebook app on my iPhone and click the same threads.

Anyone know how to stop this happening on my iPad.

Stop clicking on those news threads. There's obviously something corrupt in them.

I have stopped. Just wondered why it only happened on my iPad in the Facebook app whereas clicking the same links either through Facebook in Safari, or on my phone's Facebook app didn't have it happen.

It came up on my screen after I was reading  news from site about the Super Bowl and I clicked on a link that was on that page about NFL's richest.  So it must have been triggered when I clicked on a link within a page. I cleared my cache and website data on phone so hopefully my email will be safe. I don't have time to deal with switching email address!
