Map shows location correctly from GPS but not now

I have an ApLibrary for a trip to France a few months ago and using a Canon 6D, with GPS on, all images [or most of them] were properly GPS labelled and when I got home I was able to show the map for them and locate the place I shot the image and name it correctly,. I copied the Library over to an external drive to carry it with me on a trip and opened it up and showed the Map but nothing comes up and the Location box is empty and the drop down button is greyed out = there is a GPS coordinate showing and I am on WiFi so I would think that even if for some weird the data wouldn't transfer, it should repopulate.

What's going on??? I want the information regarding the location of the images but can't seem to get it. I've clicked through many images and it's true for all.
