I am still using Lion with iPhoto 9.4.3. If I upgrade to Yosemite will I be able to move my iPhoto library to photos?

The books will transfer if possible; any which can't be migrated will appear as albums. Click here for more information.

The books will transfer but they may lose some text and/or photos because the themes available with Photos are different than the themes in iPhoto.
My recommendation is to complete your books with iPhoto and get them ordered before migrating to Photos.
