Mouse and trackpad not scrolling in Safari and Chrome

Why does my mouse and trackpad stop scrolling when I am using Safari or Chrome? This is an intermittent fault and is cured by either restarting the applications or restarting the MacBook Pro.

I am using a MacBook Pro with 10.10.4 installed. Also, I have the 10.10.4 combo update installed.

If your Wi-Fi is capable of generating a 5 GHz signal, try that.

Hello Eric

When the scrolling stops, it affects both the mouse and trackpad at the same time.

It is only scrolling that is affected. None of the other mouse or trackpad gestures are affected.

I have only noticed this scrolling problem happening in Safari or Chrome and is intermittent.

The batteries are good in the mouse.

I have not tried switching my mouse off when this scrolling problems occurs to see if this lets the trackpad scroll. Will have to wait until the next time scrolling stops and will check this.

I prefer to use a mouse with my MacBook Pro because I find it more efficient.
