HP 6510 printer does NOT print text in black,

Have Maverick on Mac.... OS X 10.9.5

My HP 6510 does NOT print text in black, even with new cartridge installed.

It can copy in color, and print from the Web (but the black is more gray & hard to see.)

I can print pictures from iPhoto in color.

I have updated HP 6510 driver updates this afternoon.

Also have reset the printer....

Cleaned printheads, tried to align---can not finish.

Tried different things from Apple Support

Didn't work..

Would appreciate any ideas

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions, which I tried everything over 2 days..

nothing worked.

Decided to buy a new printer (after going through many, many cartridges)

The clerk at Office Depot told me that the problem was the printhead,

and there was no way to fix it. He said the reason I could still print photos

was because it uses more pressure when printing than documents, etc.

He has seen a lot of printers that last only a year or two.

Maybe this info can help others if they have the same problem.
