Q: iphone backup to icloud

My ignorance is showing. Why doesn't my phone back up to icloud when I turn it off at night, plug it in to recharge and within range of my wifi router? It's locked, plugged into a power source and connected to wifi. Right? But I still get a message to backup my phone to icloud.

If you are having difficulties making an iCloud backup of your iPhone, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article - Get help backing up your device in iCloud.

Stupid me. My wi-fi on my phone was turned off.......turning it back on solved the problem.
