weird colored lines on ipod touch screen still gets notifications but I can't see them

I have a iPod touch 5th gen and the screen is cracked one day I turned it on and there were multi colored lines in some places, sometimes corrisponding with the cracks in the screen. I kept restarting it and even did the home button and off/on button restart and nothing works. Before I could at least see parts of my screen but now my whole screen is black and sometimes orange but it always has blue, purple, teal, green, red, and white lines on it! There are some parts that have light blue or white boxes! Please HELP! And I can't restart it because you have to do the slide on the screen now and I tried to back it up on my computer but I can't because I have a password on my iPod.
