How to set up a safe and reliable external SSD - Samsung SSD T1

Howdy fellas,

I want to set up a reliable and safe external SSD hard drive to backup my most valuable / important files for long time future access:

Which is the most reliable file system?
Should I use the exFat and pre-composed system of my Samsung Portable SSD T1?
Is encryption future-proof or will it cause hiccups / compatibility issues in the future / worsen the reliability of my storage?

Why SSD? SSD for backup? as an alternate boot drive yes maybe.

I am not sure this is about nMP 6,1

Because it is the most reliable platform to store data for now and those drives last 10 times longer or more than conventional hard drives.

Should I go with the Samsung T1 or rather pick a conventional EVO 850 and put it into an external enclosure?
