Can I restore a backup from my iPod 5 Touch 64 to a new iPod 6 Touch 64 ??

Hi

I have an iPod 5 Touch 64GB with 56 apps or so on it and have made several backups to my PC manually and would like to know if I can use one of those backups (the latest of course) to import/restore/transfer it to my new iPod 6 Touch 64GB so I don't have to re-do everything on my new one. Is this possible or are these backups matched to the older iPod 5 touch exclusively....and if thats the case, is there a way to import all that to my new iPod 6 ?

I did not setup the new iPod yet and I am just parked at the screen that asks you how you want to set it up (New, Restore, etc.)
