Q: Closed computer, reopened  lid now I have wide vertical lines

I was using my mac on the partitioned side of the hard drive in windows. while using it I closed my computer and moved it to another desk. when I reopened it the screen was black. I turned the computer off then back on. Now when it comes up it has wide vertical lines on the screen when you turn it on and they change colors each time you turn it of and back on. Once you type in the password the screen goes to a kind of back lit black screen, meaning the screen is black but you can see some shading of light at the bottom of the screen. Could closing the computer while running it in windows caused it to lock up somehow and how can I fix it?
